Education Programme


Under the education programme we have two main sub-programmes; the school fees support for girls joining secondary schools and the materials and books support to primary school children.

School Fees Support Programme


Since 2006, ILHAM has established an education fund to assist girls who do well in primary school examination (KCPE) and have been accepted in secondary schools but the parents can not raise the required funds to continue.

    Students in Lamu Girls Secondary 
Through support from well-wishers, the organisation has so far supported 18 girls in various secondary schools in Kenya. These are selected at district level based on their achievements, needs and circumstances. ILHAM aims to support at least as many girls as the funds allow each year, at an estimated cost of US$2,00 per student for four years. This translates to US$500 per student per year. Since the establishment of the school fees programme in 2006, beneficiaries are as listed below:

In addition to the secondary school fees support, ILHAM has been assisting needy students in primary schools with some of the basic school requirements such as stationary, text books, exam papers, among others
