Water projects

Between October 2007 and July 2008, sponsored by various well-wishers, ILHAM has installed 15 manual water pumps in 13 remote villages in Lamu District. The villages that benefited are: Tchundwa, Kizingitini, Faza, Myabogi, Mwbajumwali, Kizingitini, Siu, Mtangawanda Ndau, Kiwayu, Kiunga, Shanga and Pate. Sponsors for this project are: Australian Government (7 wells), Woodside Energy of Australia (5 wells) and Kenya National Oil Corporation (3 wells).

The manual water pumps have helped and made it easy for women to collect water from the wells in the village.
